Department of Clinical Psychology

Clinical Psychology is one of the most diverse subfields of Psychology, both academically and in real-world cases. A clinical psychologist deals with the investigation, diagnosis and evaluation, treatment and prevention of mental difficulties and mental disorders, both in the general population and in various subgroups. Clinical psychologists approach all forms of psychopathology primarily in accordance with the biopsychosocial model, which has as its central tenet the investigation and treatment of mental disorders while taking into account all social, psychological, and biological factors that contributed to the manifestation of psychopathology. A clinical psychologist, for instance, might work with individuals in all age groups and socioeconomic backgrounds, who may or may not have co-morbidities with other medical conditions.
