Dr Maria Tsitskari

Radiologist, Interventional radiologist

Dr. Maria Tsitskari is an Interventional Radiologist at Apollonion Private Hospital in Nicosia.

She was born in 1982 in the city of Kavala, Greece. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Debrecen (DOTE) in Hungary in 2006.

She completed her specialty training in Diagnostic Radiology at the 2nd Radiology Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2013. During this period, she trained for three months in the Department of Interventional Radiology and Oncology at Saint Pierre Hospital in Brussels.

After completing her primary training in Diagnostic Radiology, she pursued further specialization in the Department of Interventional and Vascular Radiology at Attikon University Hospital in Athens for 12 months. In 2014, she completed a postgraduate program in Interventional Radiology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

She also holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) diploma, awarded by the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) after successfully passing the examinations.

Dr. Tsitskari holds a Ph.D. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Since 2015, she has been a scientific associate at the Medical School of the European University Cyprus and has been the academic coordinator for the radiology course. In 2020, she obtained a permanent lecturer position at the same university.

Dr. Tsitskari has an extensive academic record, with over 60 poster and oral presentations at international and Greek conferences, as well as publications in prestigious international journals. She has attended numerous conferences as an invited speaker, particularly in the field of interventional radiology. She is a member of committees within the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe and the European Society of Radiology and represents young Interventional Radiologists from Greece in the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
